It might have been cold outside but the atmosphere inside Bob & Berts was warm and festive last week for the Main Street, My Street Bangor Winter Fashion Night Out.
The fashion event was hosted by Cool FM breakfast show presenter, Rebecca McKinney and styled by local fashion expert, Cathy Martin. The show brought together fashion and accessory retailers from the Upper MainStreet area to collaborate and showcase the wide range of high street and designer brands available in Bangor’s town centre. Shops and businesses taking part in the event included:- Menarys Tempest, DV8, Surf Mountain, Excel Clothing, O2 Main Street, Telford Opticians, Mackey Opticians, The Zip Yard, Oasis Travel, Ava Winebar, Corin on Main Street, Pavers, Beauty Within and Bailies on Main.
Ticket sales and ballot on the night supported the work on the NSPCC NI in their Childline 30th Anniversary year. Ballot prizes were all kindly donated by the stores involved in the evening and included several £50 vouchers, a Ted Baker Travel set from Excel Clothing, a mobile phone and fitness tracker from O2 Main Street, a Quicksilver suitcase from Surf Mountain and extremely covetable Tom Ford sunglasses from Telford Opticians. As well as fabulous seasonal fashion for men, women and kids, guests were treated to festive nibbles of mini yule logs, mince pies and gingerbread men and fizz. Hair and make-up for the models was created by Gillian and her talented team at Beauty Within, the in store beauty and hair salon in Menarys, Bangor.
The Grand Final of Main Street, My Street’s biggest ever Facebook competition took place on the night as three lucky finalists were invited along to the show and to compete in a prize draw to select the lucky winner of the Trip to Berlin Christmas Markets courtesy of Oasis Travel. On the night, it was Victoria Coon who selected the lucky stocking containing the top prize. Victoria jets off with her husband to a two night stay in Berlin in December. Of course the runners up, Louise McCambridge and Alison McCune, did not go home empty handed and each received a £100 voucher to spend in Excel Clothing in Bangor.
The style surprises and shopping continued after the show with several of the stores opening late and offering exclusive discounts and gifts for shoppers. The newly refurbished Ava Wine Bar and Corin Restaurant on Main Street provided post show hospitality with prosecco on tap for all the guests at a special promotional price… a perfect end to a great night out!
