Christmas is coming and so are the Christmas advertising campaigns! This year, Main Street, My Street, Bangor launched an online search for a young star from Bangor to appear in the retail collective’s first Christmas video. Over 60 kids auditioned with a video for the part but it was little Ilona Brawley from Bangor who caught the judges’ eyes.

Cathy Martin from local talent agency, CMPR was amongst the judging panel alongside the Main Street, My Street team.

“There were lots of great little future performers amongst the entrants,” explained Cathy Martin. “But Ilona Brawley shone out to the judges, her video was very natural and endearing and her look was exactly what we were looking for.”

Ilona is 6 years old and attends Ballymagee Primary School in Bangor where she is in P2. Ilona is also a pupil at McMasters Stage School in Bangor where she has been learning to dance and perform since she was 4 years old.

“Ilona was brilliant on set. The whole process can be very daunting for a six year old as she did not know anyone when she arrived for the filming day but she was amazing,’ said Sarah Robinson from local digital agency, Eyekiller who are responsible for the Main Street, My Street Marketing campaign.

“I was so happy to be chosen as Main Street, My Street’s Christmas Star and I can’t wait to see the video soon. I especially loved the outfit I wore from Menarys and I got to keep it which will remind me of a great day!” says Ilona
