Danish home furnishing brand Søstrene Grene has confirmed it is to open a new store in Bangor. The store will be located on 128 Main Street and will create 10 new jobs. Work has already commenced on the store fit out and the expected opening date is Friday 23rdNovember.

The new store in Bangor will invite local shoppers to experience a very special store concept. Every Søstrene Grene store is designed to give customers a break from their busy lives, as they search the shelves for new and exciting finds. As a retail chain they aspire to enrich everyday life with aesthetic designs, creativity, joy and ‘hygge’ – a special state of contentment, warmth and belonging. The layouts are like labyrinths and the colourful products are neatly displayed in wooden crates under a relaxed, subdued lighting.

On the shelves, customers in Bangor will now be able to explore the brand’s large selection of interiors, small furniture, kitchen supplies, craft and DIY-articles and so much more. An everchanging selection with new products coming in weekly.

The new store in Bangor will be Søstrene Grene store number three in Northern Ireland. The Joint Venture partners behind the Northern Irish stores are Norma Jacob-Power and Richard Power.

“Bangor is an ideal location for Søstrene Grene as the North Down area is busy with young families settling down and taking pride in making comfortable and cosy homes; it’s the hub of the house-proud in Northern Ireland. We are looking forward to joining the thriving shopping scene in Bangor and providing customers with a new shopping experience, offering beautiful and affordable homeware, soft furnishings and gift ideas which will be sure to capture the creative side of life in the town,” Norma Jacob says.

The family-owned chain is expanding heavily these years and currently holds 220 stores across 16 countries. CEO Mikkel Grene heads the company from the headquarters in Denmark.

”The expansion is moving at a fast pace these years, but we are very focused on making sure that our store experience is the same whether you visit a store in Copenhagen, Paris or Belfast. For this reason, we take our time in selecting the absolute best locations for our concept. It is not about opening many stores for us; it is about opening the right stores. And I am sure the new store in Bangor will be a great addition to our portfolio,” Mikkel Grene says.
